What is LGBTQI?

LGBTQI stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and intersex. Teens who are LGBTQI often are at increased risk of:

  • Suicide
  • Depression
  • Substance abuse
  • Harassment

If you are a teen who is LGBTQI, you are not alone. Call SAFELine at 814-456-7233 if you need to talk, or if you are looking for support.

How Parents Can Help

Parents make a huge difference in the lives of their LGBTQI teens. When parents are supportive of their child’s sexual identity, the child is less likely to use drugs, become depressed, or attempt suicide. For more information about supporting your LGBTQI child, call SAFELine at 814-456-7233.
