The newly renovated Transitional Rehabilitation Units (TRUs) at Canterbury Place provide short stay rehabilitation designed to meet the needs of patients being discharged from the hospital but who are not quite ready to return home.
Board-certified physicians and specialty-trained therapists help patients recover from surgery, accidents, and illness, and return home more quickly.
The TRUs consist of private rooms.
The Heart and Vascular Institute Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (HVI-TRU) is a partnership among UPMC Senior Communities, UPMC Rehabilitation Institute, and UPMC's Heart and Vascular Institute and is housed on the second floor of Canterbury Place. The HVI-TRU is tailored to complex cardiology and cardiac surgical patients in need of short-stay rehabilitation.
