UPMC Western Behavioral Health Specialized Outpatient Programs
UPMC Western Behavioral Health has designed its outpatient and community-based programs to uniquely support patients based on their age and needs.
We provide quality evaluation, evidence-based treatment, combined with specialized skills necessary in caring for the recovering individual and his/her family. UPMC Chautauqua provides a full continuum of care, and is closely affiliated with Peer Advocates of the Mental Health Association.

A state licensed Outpatient Mental Health Center and ASAM Level 1 Addictions Program. Services include: Traditional Outpatient Mental Health and substance abuse individual, group, and couples counseling, medication management services, an Opioid Treatment Program using MAT (Buprenorphine and Vivitrol), and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offering group therapy 5 days per week, 3 hours per day, an Employee Assistance Program serving UPMC Western Maryland and multiple community businesses and governmental entities, a community case management program providing outreach services to high risk patients, a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) providing response with local law enforcement and a Drug Abatement Response Team (DART) responding in the community with local law enforcement for patients who have overdosed on Opioids.

A state licensed, 8 bed Residential Crisis Center, providing short term residential stays for patients with acute psychiatric or substance abuse issues. The house is staff by Mental Health Professionals and LPNs and provides patients with a safe living environment with all social determinants addressed for up to 10 days and provides the opportunity for linkage to community resources to increase opportunities for success.

The UPMC Jameson Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a short-term, structured, intensive mental health treatment program for adults ages 18 and older. PHP provides daily group therapy rooted in an evidenced-based approach using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The program is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. The multidisciplinary treatment team consisting of Psychiatrists, Registered Nurses, Counselors, and Licensed Social Workers. Typical mental health conditions treated include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and complicated grief. There are two levels of care are available, Acute (five days a week) and Non-Acute (three days a week). Individuals in the program receive group and individual therapy, supportive family sessions, medication management and connection to appropriate community resources. The goal of the program is for individuals to gain skills to regulate emotions, manage stress, build healthy relationships, communicate more effectively, and develop healthy and effective coping skills through education and practical application of skills.

Located in McKeesport, UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Mon Yough offers a wide range of services to adults, children, adolescents and families who face mental health, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities.
Adult mental health services include outpatient and intensive outpatient services, mobile mental health, certified peer support, psychiatric and social rehabilitation, supported employment, blended service coordination and residential services.
Substance use services include outpatient and intensive outpatient services, intervention services (including DUI classes), service coordination and recovery support.
Intellectual/developmental disability services include behavioral supports, vocational and employment services, residential services, including life sharing and Angora Gardens.
Child and adolescent services include outpatient child, adolescent and family services, behavioral health school-based services, student assistance program, CYF foster care, and blended service coordination.
