Clinical Trials and Research
The Comprehensive Breast Health Program at UPMC Hamot provides access to clinical trials through our collaboration with The Regional Cancer Center and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Our patients discover new options in medication, technologies, and procedures based on the recommendations of our multidisciplinary team.
Genetic Counseling
UPMC Hamot works with Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC to offer access to genetic counseling for patients meeting very specific criteria. For some breast cancer patients, counseling may help them make decisions on their treatment options. Our nurse coordinator for the genetic counseling access has received specific cancer genetics education through an elite program at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA.
High Risk Breast Program
The UPMC Hamot High Risk Breast Program combines medical and scientific knowledge with advanced surveillance and diagnostic methods. At the High Risk Breast program, women concerned about breast cancer can undergo an evaluation that may include:

- Personalized surveillance plans
- Prevention strategies
Access to the High Risk Program is through Bayview Breast Care at UPMC Hamot.
