Using the resources available in UPMC's large integrated health care system and the University of Pittsburgh Department of Biomedical Informatics, our fellows will get a broad and deep training in the theory and practice of Clinical Informatics. Fellows will be trained to use information systems, leadership skills, change management, and quality improvement methodology to serve academic institutions, community hospital systems and our communities by providing outstanding patient care through technological innovation, research, and education.

The UPMC Clinical Informatic Fellowship is designed to broad informatics training to physicians who are (or will be) board eligible or board certified in any primary specialty, including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehab, Surgery, etc. In addition, we partner with the Pathology Department to offer a special track for Pathologists. For more information, contact Matthew Hanna, MD. The Pathology Department also has a 1-year Pathology Informatics Clinical Instructorship Program.
