As a member of Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE), we offer specialized education in geriatric nursing care. Through the Geriatric Resource Nurse and Geriatric PCT courses, our goal is to improve the health of older adults, increase health related quality of life, and promote successful aging.
We also strive to provide educational services to prehospital care providers. It is our belief that education plays a major role in achieving and maintaining quality performance.
Our UPMC Mercy School of Nursing guides nursing students toward professional behaviors and nursing decisions based upon the values of caring, competency, critical thinking, collaboration, responsibility, accountability, integrity, and commitment to holistic care.
