Pulmonary rehab is an outpatient exercise program for people with:
- COPD
- Emphysema
- Asthma
- Chronic bronchitis
It can also help people heal after lung cancer treatment or surgery.
What to Expect at Pulmonary Rehab
After your doctor refers you, we'll assess you while you use equipment such as:
- Stationary bikes
- Treadmills
- Pulleys
- Dumbbells
- Arm ergometers
- Pulse oximetry
The rehab team will watch you closely as you work out and give you oxygen if needed.
We'll design custom exercise programs to enhance lung efficiency and conserve energy and instruct you on:
- Proper breathing techniques.
- Correct use of medications and equipment.
- Self-monitoring to detect acute lung infections.
Our team can also provide diet and nutrition counseling.
