Located in New Castle, Pa., UPMC Jameson is the acute care hub for the Lawrence and Mercer County region. Together with UPMC Horizon in Mercer County, UPMC Jameson provides a regionalized approach to health care.

Formerly Jameson Health System, the hospital merged with UPMC on May 1, 2016. Since then, UPMC Jameson has been part of a world-class academic medical center that is consistently ranked in the prestigious U.S. News & World Report annual Honor Roll of America’s Best Hospitals.

UPMC Jameson is licensed for 146 beds. Our team includes more than 300 physicians and nearly 800 employees.

Since merging with UPMC in 2016, UPMC Jameson has continued to enhance the services it provides to the region, including:

• Minimally invasive surgery with the robotic-assisted da Vinci® System
• Expert heart and vascular services, including a state-of-the-art catheterization lab
• Advanced diagnostic services and surgical treatment for breast cancer, including 3D mammography, 3D stereotactic breast biopsy, and radioactive seed localization
• Surgical oncology through UPMC Hillman Cancer Center
• A high-tech, fully modernized critical care unit

Recognized for Care

UPMC Jameson is accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) as a Comprehensive Center.

The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute at UPMC Jameson is accredited by Corazon, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based accreditation agency on behalf of the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Educating Future Health Care Providers

Educational opportunities are available locally to students pursuing careers in health care, including the UPMC Jameson School of Radiography and the UPMC Jameson School of Nursing. In partnership with Westminster College in nearby New Wilmington, Pa., the UPMC Jameson School of Nursing offers a four-year bachelor of science in nursing degree.

Internships and job shadow opportunities are also available to local high school and college students interested in health care.
