Life Changing Is ... Sharing with Others

Magee Healing Garden

The produce grown in the healing garden at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital goes to a worthy cause.

Vegetables and herbs harvested from the garden end up on patients' plates, part of a fresh meal. UPMC Magee nutrition staffers also use them in healthy cooking demonstrations for patients and visitors at the hospital. These demonstrations show the patients the importance of healthy, fresh foods in their diets.

The produce from the garden also goes beyond the hospital walls and into the community.

UPMC Magee recently brought its produce to a local community farmers market in Wilkinsburg to share with people shopping. Individuals could learn about ways to use those vegetables in their own meals.

We are continuing to use produce from the garden to help patients and the community. The goal is to help people learn how to eat healthier so that they can live healthier.

At UPMC, Life Changing Medicine means letting health grow throughout the community.

Pittsburgh (KDKA): UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital wants to help families make healthier choices.
