Mark Teahan was working as a registered nurse when he had a stroke that impacted his vision.
"Helping people was a big part of who I was" Mark says. "And after my stroke I felt lost, trying to figure out how I would move on with my life.”
Mark underwent low vision rehabilitation and learned many daily activities to help him to be self-reliant, like cooking, baking, caring for his dogs, and cleaning the family home.
Mark describes himself as a family man; he and his wife Jacqueline have been married more than 31 years and have three adult children.
“I am very blessed to have a great family that helps me and gives me much love and attention," Mark says.
Some of his most valued resources include:
- Freedom Transit
- Blueprints
- TRIPL Transitional Paths to Independent Living
- Southwestern PA Legal Aid Society
