Bryan McCormick

Bryan McCormick is a peer mentor, group leader, and cofounder of the mentoring program at UPMC Mercy, where he helps counsel and educate individuals after acquiring spinal cord injuries.

Bryan works as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation Service (BVRS) in Pittsburgh. He became a wheelchair user following a skiing accident in 2001. Bryan participates in adaptive skiing, competitive handcycling, and rowing. He is also an accomplished artist.

After his accident, Bryan learned to paint by studying the design and composition of old masters. He paints and draws every day. Bryan is a juried member of the Pittsburgh Society of Artists and Pittsburgh Watercolor Society.
