UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital has once again been recognized as a High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy) by U.S. News & World Report. In 2024, UPMC Magee was recognized for excellent outcomes for cesarean section and unexpected newborn complications among Black patients.
We understand that you have unique needs, from reproductive health care to treatments for cancer and heart disease.
We serve people in every stage of life
We offer comprehensive care, with a wide range of specialty services for women, including ob-gyn, midlife health, geriatrics, bone and joint.
We have more experience delivering babies
Across all of our hospitals, UPMC delivers nearly 25,000 babies a year. U.S. News & World Report named eight of our hospitals as "high performing" on its 2024 Best Hospitals for Maternity Care list.
We credit our excellent outcomes for cesarean section and unexpected newborn complications to our Birth Circle Doulas of Magee program, which provides custom doula support at no cost for at-risk women.
In addition, we have NICUs at seven of our hospitals, providing the best possible care for fragile newborns.
We have Pa.'s largest network of women’s specialists
With locations throughout Pa., UPMC has more specialists in more places.
For reproductive health, breast health, pelvic health, bone health, and many other conditions, we’ll meet you where you are.
We invest in research to help improve care
Our Magee-Women’s Research Institute is the nation’s first research center devoted exclusively to health conditions that affect women and their infants.
From woman-controlled HIV protection to therapies that could prevent the recurrence of ovarian cancer, we’re helping to solve real-world problems impacting women’s lives.
