We see people in all stages of life, for both routine and specialty care. Many people see us when they're having a baby, but we offer a range of services for people of all ages.
Your Women’s Health Care Team at UPMC
Our women’s health team includes experts in many different areas.
If you’ve having a baby, our team works together to care for you before, during, and after pregnancy. We want your experience to be positive, and for you to have the support you need.
Our pregnancy and postpartum care team includes:
- Gynecologists — Provide reproductive health, well care, and pregnancy care.
- Ob-gyns — Do everything gynecologists do and also deliver babies.
- Labor and delivery nurses — Help during delivery.
- Certified nurse-midwives — Licensed in both nursing and midwifery and deliver babies.
- Doulas — Help support you during labor and provide non-medical comfort before, during, and after your pregnancy.
- Lactation consultants — Offer breastfeeding support and help troubleshoot problems.
- Urogynecologists — Treat pelvic floor conditions that can happen as a result of pregnancy and childbirth.
- Pelvic floor physical therapists — Help you strengthen pelvic floor muscles to improve problems like incontinence.
- Behavioral therapists — Treat postpartum depression and other postpartum conditions.
