As part of its 2024-25 "Best Hospitals" rankings, U.S. News has recognized UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital as #24 in the nation for excellence in obstetrics & gynecology. UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital has been putting women first for more than 110 years, and this recognition highlights our continuous efforts in providing the highest standard of care to all patients.
UPMC Altoona, UPMC Carlisle, UPMC Hanover, UPMC Harrisburg, UPMC Memorial, and UPMC Williamsport have all been recognized as 2025 High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy) by U.S. News & World Report.
UPMC Williamsport, UPMC Wellsboro, UPMC Northwest, UPMC Cole, and UPMC Carlisle were also designated as Maternity Care Access Hospitals, recognized for serving communities that would otherwise be maternity care deserts.
UPMC Magee has been recognized for its success in supporting Black maternal health by U.S. News & World Report. The U.S. News analysis of all high-performing maternity care hospitals in the U.S., identified just 26 hospitals achieving excellent outcomes for cesarean section and unexpected newborn complications among Black patients. Magee is the only hospital in Pennsylvania to receive this recognition.
