An optometrist, or doctor of optometry (OD), is a specialist in optical disorders and vision. Ophthalmologists at UPMC are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and disorders.

Opticians are technicians trained to fill lens prescriptions and assist patients with lens and frame selection and fitting. Our opticians work closely with UPMC Mercy’s ophthalmologists and optometrists to support all your vision needs.
