The UPMC Department of Neurosurgery offers a Spine and Scoliosis Support Group for patients and their families facing the challenges brought on by spinal disorders. This support group welcomes anyone diagnosed with a spine condition or scoliosis, as well as their family members. The group blends educational insights about spine health and scoliosis with exploring various care dimensions.
The group features specialists from neurosurgery, orthopaedics, physical therapy, pain management, psychiatry, and other community partners.
The group is bolstered by the Spine Computational Outcomes Learning Institute (SCOLI), a non-profit research organization based at the University of Pittsburgh.
