The 1-year, ACGME accredited, Pediatric Otolaryngology clinical fellowship program provides intensive experience in all aspects of ear, nose and throat disease in children including:
- Otology
- Rhinology
- Bronchoesophagology
- Head and neck reconstructive surgery
- Training in cleft palate-related problems
An attending pediatric otolaryngologist is always present to provide supervision in both the operating room and the outpatient clinic. The fellow will also receive training at the:
- Ear Center
- Hearing Center
- Aerodigestive Center
- Voice Center
- Cleft Craniofacial Center
- Audiology and Communication Disorders Division, UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh
Weekly didactic programs of conferences are offered by the Pediatric Otolaryngology Division. Also, the Pediatric Otolaryngology service presents Grand Rounds at the Department of Otolaryngology.
The Pediatric Otolaryngology Division offers morning conferences rotated among:

About the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology
The primary goal of the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology has been not only to provide outstanding patient care, but also to perform research on important clinical and basic science issues and to provide training at all levels.
The Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology has a full time staff of 12 attending pediatric otolaryngologists, one research pediatrician, and four research faculty. Second and 4th year residents in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine complete a one 2-3 month rotation yearly on the Pediatric Otolaryngology service. The Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology has administrative personnel who support both clinical and research efforts.
