On-Demand Video Visit Instructions

• If you are joining via your mobile device, you will need to download the UPMC Central PA Portal app to your handheld device before your appointment.
• Download the UPMC Central PA Portal app

• Open the UPMC Central PA Portal app, and click Accept to accept the license agreement.
• Enter UPMC Central PA in the search field at the top of your screen.
• Log in with your UPMC Central PA Portal account username and password.

1. Go to UPMCCentralPAPortal.com (or open the UPMC Central PA Portal app) and enter your UPMC Central PA Portal account username and password.
2. On the dropdown "Visits" click on "On Demand Video Visit" or if you are using the UPMC Central PA Portal app simply click on the "On-Demand Video Visit" icon.
3. Answer the question asking if you are in PA
4. Under "What brings you here today?" select one of the options:
• Allergies
• Bronchitis
• Coronavirus
• Cough
• Diarrhea
• Fever
• Flu
• Pink Eye
• Rash
• Sinusitis
• Sore Throat
• Tick Bite
• Urinary Tract Infection
• Vaginal Yeast Infection
5. Select how you will be connecting to your video visit (computer or mobile app).

You will be able to click the Test Hardware button to ensure your webcam and microphone are functioning correctly before meeting with your provider.

By Mobile Device

Please click Allow in the pop up box displayed in your browser. This will allow your provider to see and hear you during the visit. To check and ensure the camera and mic are enabled, go to your phone settings, and select the UPMC Central PA Portal app.

1. You must complete the eCheck-in before your video visit can begin. Here you will verify your contact information, insurance, accept terms and conditions.
2. You will be put in a queue for the next available provider. You should add an email address to receive a notification when your provider is ready.
3. When you receive notification from your provider select "Begin Video Visit"

By Mobile Device

1. Open the UPMC Central PA Portal App and enter your UPMC Central PA Portal account username and password.
• Click Sign In.
• Click Appointments.
2. Select your video visit appointment from the Upcoming Appointments screen. Click on details of your appointment.
3. Click Begin Visit.
• If the provider has not joined the video visit yet, you will see their video stream on the bottom and a message that says, “Waiting for provider.” Once the provider joins the video visit, you will see him or her at the top of the screen.

By Computer

1. Go to UPMC Central PA Portal and enter your UPMC Central PA Portal account username and password.
• Click Sign In.
• Click on the Appointments tab at the top. Then click on details of your Video Visit.

(You will be able to click the Test Hardware button to ensure your webcam and microphone are functioning correctly before meeting with your provider.)

1. When you are ready to begin your video visit click Begin Video Visit. This notifies the provider that you are ready for your appointment. The provider will begin the visit with you as close as possible to your scheduled appointment time.
2. You may receive a pop-up message when you first connect that requests permission to access your camera and microphone. Click Allow.
3. When you are connected to the video visit, the main screen will read “Connected, waiting for provider” until your provider signs in to the video visit.
