How to Use the UPMC Central PA Portal

The UPMC Central PA Portal connects you to your electronic medical record at UPMC. With the UPMC Central PA Portal, you can communicate directly with a provider, view upcoming and past appointments, check test results, and pay a bill with just a few simple clicks. Sign up for a UPMC Central PA Portal account today.

Schedule Appointments

  1. From your Home Screen, click Appointments and Video Visits.
  2. Select Schedule an appointment.
  3. Select the provider from your care team, find a new provider, or select the reason for the appointment to move forward.
    1. Scheduling with your care team: Once you have selected your care team provider, select the reason for your visit.
    2. Find a new provider: Selecting this option will then have you select the specialty you need, and the reason for your visit.
    3. Tell us why you are coming in: This option will have you select the reason for the visit and input a location based on your past visits. This may need to be edited, should you choose to change the location you wish to visit.
  4. Select a location and click Continue.
  5. Choose a date/time and click Continue.
  6. Review appointment details and click Confirm Appointment.

Video Visits

  1. Select your appointment from the home screen and click eCheck-In.
  2. From eCheck-In, answer insurance, travel history, and sign your documents.
  3. Click on Join Video Visit when you are ready to begin.

  1. From the home page, you can click eCheck-In to save time before an appointment.
  2. Begin to answer the series of questions and click continue on each page until you reach the final page to Submit.
  3. Once completed, you will be able to scan your eCheck-In barcode when you arrive at the office for your appointment.

View Test Results

  1. From your home screen, click Test Results.
  2. Test results will automatically appear, or you can search for a specific one.
  3. Click on a test result to view more details.

View COVID-19 Records

  1. From your home screen, click the three lines in the upper left corner.
  2. Scroll down and select COVID-19.
  3. You can view administered COVID-19 vaccines and test results.*

*COVID-19 vaccines and test results will only be available if you received a dose or test from a UPMC facility. You have the option to add additional COVID-19 vaccinations or test results to your UPMC Central PA Portal account.

Renew Medications

  1. From your home screen, click Medications.
  2. You can view and manage your medications from the list.
  3. Click Report a Medication to add a new medication to your list.

Pay Your Bill

  1. From your home screen, click Pay Now.
    1. To view your bill for further details, click View Details.
  2. Click Amount Due to pay the bill in full or select Other Amount and choose the amount you would like to pay.
  3. Choose your payment method.
  4. Check the box to authorize payment and enter a valid email address for your payment confirmation.
  5. Click Make Payment.

Sign up for Proxy Access

  1. From your home screen, click the three lines in the upper left corner.
  2. Scroll down and select Sharing Hub.
  3. Select from the options who you would like to share your information with.
  4. Then select from the next set of steps:
    1. Download or send a snapshot.
    2. Request a formal copy.
    3. Give one-time access to your UPMC Portal account.

Send a New Message to Your Provider

  1. From your home screen, click Messages.
  2. Select Send a Message to begin.
  3. Select the reason for the message from the pop-up tab.
  4. Based on the reasoning for the message, you will continue answering questions based on that.
  5. You can type any further details you would like to provide in the body of the message.
  6. Once your message is ready, click Send.

*Please note, due to the high volume of messages being received, your provider may take 3-5 business days to respond to your message.

Cancel Upcoming Appointments

  1. From your home screen, click View Details on the appointment you want to cancel.
  2. Once you click on the appointment, click Cancel Appointment.
  3. Click Confirm Cancellation.
  4. A cancellation confirmation page will appear.
  5. To reschedule your appointment, contact your provider’s office or schedule online for a date and time that works for your schedule.
