The Program for Spine Health provides an innovative, patient-centered, and comprehensive approach to the care of back pain, neck pain, and other spine disorders.
Drawing on UPMC expertise and resources, the program focuses on restoring function, improving pain, and getting people back to their lives. Our team of highly experienced providers work collaboratively to build a treatment plan that helps each patient understand the issues affecting his or her spine and addresses barriers that affect improving patients’ quality of life.
Focusing on non-operative treatment approaches, we empower our patients to regain and preserve function, purpose, and health. Our care team includes a dedicated nurse who coordinates care within UPMC, physicians with decades of experience in non-operative spine care, skilled physical therapists with advanced training as “primary spine providers,” a dietician, a pain psychologist, and a UPMC Health Coach, all of whom meet regularly and are connected to the full scope of care within UPMC. We aim to provide world class care for every patient and promote meaningful activity to help people alleviate their pain, improve function, and foster a sustainable approach to better health.
