Advance Directives

If you become unable to choose or communicate your wishes due to an accident or illness, your advance directives will determine who can make medical decisions for you. Advance directives are valuable tools for protecting your right to make medical choices. Fill out these forms to ensure we have your wishes on hand.

Behavioral Health Services

Our crisis hotline addresses urgent or emergency needs: 240-964-1399. Counselors are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to provide face-to-face or crisis line intervention.

Charge File

The charge master file (CMF) is a hospital’s regularly updated database containing the list of standard charges assigned to procedures, tests, services, drugs, and supplies associated with the delivery of medical care at the hospital.

Financial Assistance and Insurance

You may receive financial aid at UPMC Western Maryland for hospital services based on income and insurance.

Medical Records

Accessing your medical records is easy. You can request authorization from your nurse during your stay at UPMC Western Maryland or download the form and follow the instructions for access.

No Surprises Act

Under the law, health care providers must provide an estimate of your bill for medical items and services if you do not have insurance or are not using insurance.

Pain Management

UPMC Western Maryland is committed to a proactive pain management approach using appropriate assessment and interventions based on your reported pain level. Your caregiver will do all they can to treat your pain safely and give you tools to manage it so you can be as comfortable as possible.

Patient Discharge

Communication among you, your support person, your provider, and our team is crucial when considering your plans after leaving the hospital. We want to ensure you have an appropriate plan in place to transition to your next level of care – whether it’s home, home with outside services, assisted living, or a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation.

Tobacco-free Campus

To protect the health of our patients, visitors, and staff, we prohibit tobacco use on the entire UPMC Western Maryland Campus on Willowbrook Road and at all other UPMC Western Maryland locations.

Visitors

Your support persons are essential to your healing. General visiting hours are between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., seven days a week.

Wi-Fi Access

Free wireless internet is available throughout the hospital.
