About UPMC Western Maryland

UPMC Western Maryland is a nonprofit, acute-care hospital located in Cumberland, Maryland, that serves residents in Allegany County and the surrounding counties in Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including an accredited cancer center, robotic surgery program, cutting-edge neurosurgery operating suite, and Level II neonatal intensive care unit.

UPMC Western Maryland is also recognized for having an award-winning cardiac surgery program and offers the only open-heart surgery in the state, west of Baltimore. In addition, UPMC Western Maryland has received the following designations from the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems: Designated Cardiac Interventional Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Level III Adult Trauma Center.
