The Office of Referring Physician Relations (OPR) consists of four departments:
- MedCall
- Outreach Liaisons
- Data Services
- Hospital Operators (for select facilities)
MedCall: Patient Transfers and Consults
- Facilitates urgent and non-urgent transfers
- Referrals within UPMC and outlying hospital systems
- Provide consult services between facilities
- Telemedicine services

Data Services
In conjunction with UPMC Physician Services Division, OPR provides data services. Data Services provides new referring physician information, current referring physician information, and UPMC personnel information to the UPMC system through HR Direct information feeds. This information is used in Central Logic to facilitate transfers and in MedTrak which delivers on-call schedules.
