Your doctor orders imaging tests to accurately diagnose a wide range of medical conditions. From your brain to your heart to your abdomen, imaging lets your doctor take a close-up look inside your body to identify and treat a medical problem.
Some imaging services, like mammography, pinpoint potential issues at their earliest stage when they are most treatable. Image-guided therapy allows doctors who are specially trained in radiology and interventional therapy to find and treat problems that once have gone undetected or required invasive surgery.
Comprehensive advanced imaging services — from basic x-rays to complex, advanced tests — are available for children and adults. At UPMC Altoona, our highly trained imaging team cares for the needs of emergency and admitted patients who require imaging tests or image-guided therapy.
All these resources gives residents of central Pennsylvania access to the most advanced diagnoses and minimally invasive treatments available in our region.
