Dance Performance

UPMC Sports Medicine's dance performance team specializes in the needs of dancers to assess, treat, and rehabilitate dance-related injuries.

Whether you have an injury, or you’re just looking to make your turns a little tighter, we have your back.

Our physical therapists and athletic trainers are members of the Performing Arts Special Interest Group of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), International Association for Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS), and Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA). We are also active and contributing members of the Dance/USA Taskforce on Dancer Health.

We can help improve and prolong your dance career through dance-specific assessments and training.

UPMC Sports Medicine has served as the sports medicine provider for Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre for more than 40 years. We care for many other performers as well, including those of the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University.

In addition to the providers included in our directory, dancers also have access to our sports nutrition team.
