The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2 (ADOS-2) is an evaluation method that allows the examiner to observe behaviors often related to autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This tool can be used across developmental levels and ages.
The test has five modules that are administered in 40 to 60 minutes. Each module contains a unique set of activities for use with children or adults. It is appropriate for individuals as young as 12 months who may have no expressive language as well as for adults who are fully verbal. The ADOS-2 can also be used to track an individual’s change in ASD-related symptoms over time.
At the end of the assessment process, the examiner will complete a report with the diagnosis and recommendations. If ongoing therapy or treatment is needed, a PHPA licensed clinical psychologist will continue to work with the patient.
