Established in October of 2004, the center provides support and resources for investigators to pursue research in the field of balance disorders in the elderly through an integrated, multidisciplinary approach.
The Pittsburgh Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center strives to develop interventions to improve function and independence in older adults with balance disorders, Integrate studies of physiologic, biomechanical and psychosocial mechanisms affecting balance with clinical studies, and foster multidisciplinary research and research training.
