PACT — part of the UPMC Center for Care of Infectious Diseases — and a Ryan White Center for Excellence — is comprised of a dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals with expertise in HIV. The center provides complete care to more than 1,500 persons 18+ years of age living with HIV.

Persons newly diagnosed with HIV, including those who are pregnant, should contact our rapid linkage to care line at 412-647-1307 during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday).
Existing patients can contact their care team at 412-647-7228 during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday), as well as the on-call physician after hours if there is an urgent need.
HIV-related telemedicine services can be accessed through video visits arranged on a free UPMC patient portal or by making an appointment at one of three outpatient telemedicine clinics. At these clinics, people with HIV are seen by a physician located in Pittsburgh through an audio-video interface and with the help of a trained nurse tele-presenter.

Along with treatment and support, PACT conducts clinical trials of antiretrovirals for therapy and prevention of HIV-1 infection.
