Cellulite

UPMC Content 3

Cellulite occurs when there are too many fat cells in the hypodermis -- the deepest layer of the skin. Those cells then protrude up through the connective tissue and cause the skin to “dimple.” Cellulite is found primarily on the thighs, buttocks, abdomen, calves, and arms. Women and men of all body types and sizes can have cellulite.
