HARRISBURG, Pa. – UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Central Pa., with the support of the UPMC Pinnacle Foundation, is hosting the Women’s Cancer Symposium on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Best Western Premier, The Central Hotel & Conference Center, 800 E Park Drive, Harrisburg. The comprehensive one-day event aims to advance knowledge in women's oncology and is designed for physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care professionals.
The symposium is free for all UPMC employees. For non UPMC employees, there is a charge of $50 to attend.
Expert speakers include UPMC Hillman Cancer Center physicians, Kit Y. Lu, M.D, Joshua P. Kesterson, M.D., Nadine Srouji, M.D., Brynn Wolff, M.D., Adam Brufsky, M.D. and Kathryn H. Schmitz, PhD, MPH, FACSM, FTOS. The speakers will address the latest developments in breast and gynecological cancer care, including axillary management, metastatic disease, new technologies, genomic testing, and reconstructive techniques. Supportive care, featuring discussions on sexual health after cancer, patient support, and nurse navigation will also be addressed.
The symposium's learning objectives focus on applying cutting-edge research, discussing cancer prevention advancements, identifying multidisciplinary treatment initiatives, recognizing survivorship planning efforts, and understanding new pharmaceutical developments.
