Facility Amenities at The Birthplace

Enjoy a relaxing atmosphere in which you can bond with your newborn and receive spa-like treatment.

The Birthplace in Williamsport strives to make you as comfortable as possible with our luxury amenities and allows you to return home in a relaxed, confident state.

Our 18 private postpartum rooms feature:

  • Flatscreen televisions
  • DVD players
  • Mini-refrigerators
  • Sleep space for a support person
  • A beautiful view of the central Pennsylvania mountains

Other special highlights of our facility

  • Six labor and delivery rooms, including private showers, specialized birthing beds and the latest labor and delivery equipment
  • A large operating room with a two bed recovery area
  • Four prenatal and testing beds
  • 15-bed newborn nursery
  • 5-bed Level II nursery for prematurely born babies, including a place for parents to stay while their baby is being cared for
  • Patient and family education areas

We encourage our proud mothers to spend as much time as possible with their baby, and they can now do so in ultimate comfort. The Birthplace also offers very special post-delivery amenities to mothers and new families.

The Birthplace: A Level II Nursery in Williamsport

The Birthplace offers comfort and peace of mind for the care of high-risk newborns. Our specially trained Level II medical staff includes board-certified pediatricians and nurses. They care for premature infants born at 32 weeks of gestation or older (at least 1500 gms) and full-term babies with medical conditions, such as the need for special respiratory care, administration of medications and fluids intravenously and/or the use of special lights for babies with jaundice, a condition common to premature babies.

Babies who do not meet the 32 week or weight criteria may be transported to another facility. The Birthplace provides exceptional care for the unexpected, utilizing the latest technology to help a larger range of families and their needs.

Web Nursery

Portraits are usually posted within 24 to 36 hours of a baby leaving the hospital and are available online for at least three months. View your loved one’s newborn photos.
