The best nurses are well informed, staying on top of the latest treatment and patient care research.
At St. Margaret School of Nursing, we offer educational resources on campus and at the hospital so the information you need is there when you need it.
Library access and extensive computer databases put nursing best practices at your fingertips.
Library Access at St. Margaret School of Nursing
We have two libraries at St. Margaret School of Nursing— a medical library and the Van Horn library. Both provide the latest medical journals and reference materials for St. Margaret nursing students and hospital staff.
Nursing students are also welcome to use either library in their clinical and schoolwork.
Computer Access for St. Margaret Nursing Students
The St. Margaret School of Nursing maintains a computer lab on campus, with desktop computers for students to use.
St. Margaret nursing students have access to the University of Pittsburgh's Health Sciences Library System.
PittCat+ and PittCat Classic are valuable tools for quickly finding books, journals, and more.
We also use electronic charting and medication delivery systems, so you have the complete experience before you get into the hospital environment.
Simulation Labs at St. Margaret School of Nursing
Sim labs let you use lifelike models to practice before approaching a real patient.
At St. Margaret School of Nursing, we use hands-on teaching methods to help you become comfortable as you build confidence and develop your skills.
In addition to the patient simulation, we invite real people with scripts to St. Margaret so our nursing students can practice mental health care.
