What is an Exercise Physiologist?
An exercise physiologist is an academically trained health care professional whose focus is to help patients achieve and maintain health and wellness and prevent illness and disability.
Our Exercise Program
There are several exercise options to choose from:
- Our exercise physiologist is available for one-on -one consults, follow-up appointments to assist with evaluating your activity, exercise level, and develop a realistic, achievable and customizable exercise plan. Your sessions can take place at the Weight Loss Center, in the comfort of your own home, or your fitness center.
What to expect at your initial consult
- Body composition assessment.
- Brief review of your general health history related to exercise.
- Identifying exercise barriers and ways to overcome them and an in-depth explanation on the role of exercise for weight loss.
- Individualized exercise plan & home program based on assessment.
- Physical assessment of strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness.
- Review of past and current exercise program.
- Scheduling of future follow-up session as desired (weekly, biweekly, monthly).
What to expect at your follow-up appointments
- Assessment of the effectiveness of your exercise plan and recommended changes to exercise techniques, frequency and/or intensity levels.
- Assessment of your progression on exercise plan and/or home program.
- Body composition re-assessments to track results and progress.
- Demonstration of any new exercises.
