Center for Innovation in Pain Care (CIPC)
At CIPC, we:
- Find and prove new ideas to care for people in pain.
- Offer new care options to the people we treat to improve pain care and outcomes.
- Partner with academic, industry, and philanthropic leaders.
- Focus on improving pain care for people inside and outside the hospital.
We design a complete way of caring for people with pain syndromes and opioid use disorders. This includes their genetics and mood disorders.
We work to enhance acute and chronic pain care in many arenas, such as:
- Care for chronic pain in people who are not in the hospital.
- Treatment of acute and subacute pain in people who just had surgery.
- Pain care for pregnant people during the time of delivery.
Our team develops total pain assessment and treatment plans that focus on the whole person.
We also aim to improve pain care by not prescribing opioids to people who have just had surgery. We use unique drugs and non-drug treatments to combat pain and opioid addiction.
