UPMC Content 3

Oculoplastics services at the UPMC Vision Institute provide diagnosis and treatment for diseases and disorders of the eyelids, eye sockets, and tear ducts. We also offer a wide range of treatment options for patients who wish to reconstruct, restore, and rejuvenate their appearance.

Our comprehensive approach gives patients access to state-of-the-art technology and a wide variety of eye care specialists and ophthalmic surgeons. Our multidisciplinary team designs individualized treatment plans based on patients’ needs, with the ultimate goal of improving their vision and quality of life.

Aesthetic Services

Our fellowship-trained and highly-experienced oculoplastic surgeons offer patients the opportunity to enhance their appearance, through the latest non-surgical and surgical approaches, including:

  • Fillers such as Restylane® and Juvederm®
  • Injectables such as BOTOX® and Dysport®
  • Eyebrow lifts
  • Lid lifts

Our services are backed by the comprehensive care and medical expertise of the UPMC Vision Institute.

Our highly experienced surgeons also can help patients achieve a desired aesthetic look through cosmetic surgical procedures, such as blepharoplasty (eyelift). Blepharoplasty is often considered as a treatment option for patients with sagging or drooping eyelids.

Orbital and Ocular Services

A variety of disorders can occur in the soft tissues around the orbit, the space between the eye and the bones protecting the eye. These may include eye diseases such as orbital inflammation or proptosis (protrusion of the eye), skin cancer, and trauma-related injury. In these cases, treatment, in the form of orbital and ocular reconstruction, can include minimally invasive endoscopic approaches as well as open surgical techniques.

Our highly skilled surgeons have a breadth of resources at their disposal, and offer a personalized and comprehensive approach to addressing these diagnoses and conditions.

Why Choose UPMC for Oculoplastics?

From quick, non-surgical aesthetic services to the most challenging surgical procedures, oculoplastic surgeons at the UPMC Vision Institute are prepared to offer patients a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan that will help them achieve better vision and health.

Patients are seen by an eye doctor throughout their visits — never an aesthetician. They receive a comprehensive evaluation, and should they need the services of other specialists, we have access to a wide array of physicians throughout UPMC.
