UPMC Williamsport Earns Reaccreditation for Excellence in Joint Replacements

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – UPMC Williamsport has once again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement, recognizing the hospital’s continued commitment to high-quality patient care and safety.

UPMC Williamsport underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review for observations as well as interviews to evaluate compliance with Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement standards.

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance.
