WELLSBORO, Pa. – UPMC has recently expanded its virtual and telemedicine services offered through UPMC Telemedicine Services – Wellsboro, now including specialists in dermatology, endocrinology, and pulmonology.
“Innovation is guiding and shaping how we ensure our communities have access to quality specialty services,” said Janie Hilfiger, president, UPMC Wellsboro and UPMC Cole. “We’re aware of the barriers related to connectivity and broadband in many of the communities we serve in the northern tier. We believe those barriers should not limit the care we offer, and by creating a clinic for UPMC Telemedicine Services at UPMC Wellsboro, we’re able to deliver specialty services efficiently and effectively by tapping into the resources available within the hospital.”
UPMC Telemedicine Services – Wellsboro is located on the UPMC Wellsboro campus at 32-36 Central Avenue, Wellsboro. During the virtual appointment, a nurse will be in the exam room with the patient to facilitate the consult and provide follow-up care instructions.
