Susan E. Jarquin, PhD, MBA

Dr. Susan Jarquin is an accomplished psychologist working as a Pain Rehabilitation Coordinator with UPMC Pain Medicine and a faculty member in the University of Pittsburgh Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. She co-leads multidisciplinary chronic pain programs to help patients adaptively cope with chronic pain and restore functioning, co-leads UPMC Pain Medicine’s behavioral medicine service line, and coordinates care with UPMC Centers for Rehabilitation Services.

Dr. Jarquin received her PhD in counseling psychology from West Virginia University and completed an American Psychological Association-accredited internship in adult clinical psychology at Appalachian Regional Healthcare as well as a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical psychology/behavioral medicine at Geisinger Medical Center. She also holds an MBA from Penn State University.

She has authored publications and lectured and presented locally and nationally on topics including pain psychology, telepsychology, motivational interviewing, behavioral medicine interventions, behavioral sleep medicine, and multidisciplinary pain treatment.

Dr. Jarquin is active in clinical education, supervising externs, interns, and fellows completing rotations in pain psychology and teaching psychology students, pain medicine fellows, nursing staff, and pain rehabilitation staff.
