​Dr. El-Kadi is chief of neurological surgery at UPMC Passavant, playing a leading role in developing the Spine Center into a world-class tertiary specialty care program.  Dr. El-Kadi specializes in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery, removal of spine tumors, and treatment of spine-related diseases.

He is vice chairman and clinical professor of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and a partner of Tri-State Neurosurgical Associates.

Dr. El-Kadi’s clinical reputation has landed him on the Best Doctors® list, honoring the top 5 percent of the most outstanding and respected physicians in America. He has authored more than seven books and book chapters and has more than 50 publications in circulation in addition to serving active roles in numerous professional societies.

He completed neurosurgery residency training at West Virginia University, a neurosurgery research fellowship at LAC – University of Southern California Medical Center, and a clinical fellowship in neurosurgery at Hartford Hospital, University of Connecticut. Dr. El-Kadi is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
