David M. Farner is executive vice president and chief strategic and transformation officer at UPMC. Farner works on UPMC strategic opportunities and initiatives and plays an active role in the executive direction of UPMC. Additionally, he assumes a leadership role in the federal reimbursement issues and UPMC payor contracting strategy.
Prior to Farner’s current position, he served as the interim chief financial officer for the system and has served in numerous financial leadership roles over his 20 plus years at UPMC.
Farner’s professional career began at the UPMC in 1986 as a financial analyst for Presbyterian University Hospital prior to his position at Arthur Andersen & Company from 1985 to 1986 as a staff auditor.
