A significant amount of misinformation is circulating online through social media concerning how we are caring for our team members who were injured in the violent attack at UPMC Memorial.
All of our staff are out of the hospital and recovering at home with the commitment of our full and ongoing support in their recovery. Through personal outreach, we are ensuring they have the connections they need to complete all necessary reporting and paperwork to receive the benefits and protections they are entitled due to workplace injury in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements. Additionally, we are committed to paying their full wages while they are recovering and will continue to do so until they are well. There is no timeline on their recovery.
Our immediate focus has been on supporting our UPMC Memorial team and ensuring they have the support and resources they need at this difficult time.
