MRI for Women and Men at Magee-Womens Imaging

UPMC Content 3

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive test that uses magnetic waves to make detailed pictures of the inside of the body.

Board-certified radiologists at Magee-Womens Imaging use state-of-the-art MRI technology to help:

  • Diagnose internal injuries or conditions
  • Determine if current medicines or treatments are working
  • Discover tumors, blood vessel diseases, or internal bleeding and infections

Radiologists are able to not only see these images two-dimensionally, but also three-dimensionally.

After the exam, your Magee radiologist will analyze the images and share the results with your doctor, who will formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan.
