DXA Scans for Women and Men at Magee-Womens Imaging

A dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scan is a noninvasive procedure that measures bone density, as well as mineral content in other parts of the body.

It is the most accurate scan for diagnosing:

  • The first stages of bone loss (osteopenia)
  • Osteoporosis
  • The thinning of bones that can lead to bone fractures in aging men and women

Board-certified experts at Magee-Womens Imaging interpret your scans and work with your doctor to determine an accurate diagnosis and develop a treatment plan.
