Shared Decision-Making (SDM) Online Skills Course

If you're a clinician and interested in completing our SDM Skills Course, you can request enrollment via the Wolff Learning Academy.

The course is interactive and includes the following modules:

  • The Six Steps of Shared-Decision Making.
  • When Would You Use SDM?
  • What's Stopping You?
  • Listening for Patient Goals and Concerns.
  • Practice the Conversation.
  • SDM With and Without Decision Aids.
  • SDM Implementation: An Overview.
  • Assessment of SDM Conversation Skills.

Eligible participants who complete the course will earn 2 CME credits.

We will do our best to match you with a mentor for one-off, short-term, or longer-term support.

We're always looking for ways to support SDM at UPMC and build a network of SDM experts in:

  • Medical education.
  • Clinical administration/quality improvement.
