We want your first appointment to be as productive and stress-free as possible. Take a moment to review what you need to bring with you and learn about what to expect.
What To Expect
During your first visit to the Breast Care Center you will meet with a breast surgeon or a certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP). You will have a thorough physical exam and a complete review of your medical history, including past mammograms and family history, to determine which diagnostic tests you need.
Our scheduler will coordinate your diagnostic testing and your follow-up appointment. Most diagnostic tests and procedures, including minimally invasive breast biopsies, are provided right at the Breast Care Center.
Mammogram/Breast Ultrasound Films
Please bring with you all of the films from the mammograms and breast ultrasounds you have had in the last five years. You will need to call your imaging facility at least 48 to 72 hours prior to your scheduled appointment to request your films. While we are able to view some films online, you MUST bring a printed copy of your films to your first appointment.
Personal And Family Health History Form And Billing Policies
After scheduling your appointment, we will mail you a packet of information that includes the initial paperwork needed for your appointment. Because we need a very detailed personal and family health history to give you the best treatment possible, the paperwork is rather lengthy. Therefore, we do ask that you complete as much of this paperwork as possible prior to your appointment.
