Volunteer Requirements at UPMC Somerset
- Must be 15 years of age or older
- Commitment of 15 hours per month
- Attend orientation and receive training before beginning assignments
- Completion of annual mandatory, continuing education
- Report absences to your supervisor
- Maintain hospital and patient confidentiality
Volunteer Opportunities at UPMC Somerset
Not all opportunities listed are available at all times. Opportunities will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.
- Clerical
Clerical volunteers will be responsible for filing, organizing, and working on various projects throughout the hospital. There are various departments throughout the hospital that always need clerical help.
- Patient Greeter and Escort
Patient greeter and escort volunteers assist with providing patients and their families with information and helping them get throughout UPMC hospitals.
- Nursing Unit
Nursing Unit Volunteers will assist in various ways including checking in on patients, restocking medical supplies, providing comfort items to families and patients, etc.
