How to Apply for the UPMC McKeesport Internal Medicine Residency Program

We welcome all candidates to apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)All positions are filled through the match.  

Only applications that are complete are reviewed. A complete application must include the following:

  • ERAS common application form
  • Personal statement
  • Current curriculum vitae
  • USMLE Steps 1 and 2 transcripts with scores of 220 or higher or pass
  • USMLE clinical skills
  • COMLEX Level 1 and 2 transcript with a score of 450 or higher (osteopathic applicants)
  • COMPLEX PE
  • Medical school transcript
  • Medical student performance evaluation
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Picture
  • ECFMC certification (for IMG)

International Medical Graduates

  • U.S. clinical experience is desirable
  • We sponsor J1 and H1 visas (the latter requires USMLE step 3)
  • ECFMG status report
  • Graduation from medical school within 2 to 3 years is desirable

Interviews

Our program uses ERAS, in combination with Thalamus, to review, select, invite and schedule candidates for virtual interviews.

Based on UPMC GME and AAIM recommendations - UPMC McKeesport Internal Medicine program will conduct only virtual interviews using Microsoft Teams technology.
