The staff at UPMC Magee-Womens in Central Pa. understands that the first few hours after birth are an important time for you and your baby. That’s why we make sure that your baby receives all the screenings, tests and procedures that he or she needs to prevent problems and treat any underlying health issues.
Whenever possible, we perform your baby’s tests and procedures in your hospital room—and some tests and procedures can even be performed while you are holding your baby skin to skin.
If your baby needs specialized care after birth, the expert staff in our NICU are ready to help. In addition to providing care for our tiniest patients, our compassionate staff will support you and your family and provide the resources you need to take the best care of your baby after discharge.
