Breast cancer symptoms often don’t occur until the disease has progressed. This makes it very important for you to know your risk factors and to follow current screening recommendations. Symptoms can include:
- A lump or thickening in the breast or underarm
- Change in the size or shape of the breast
- Redness or scaling of the skin or nipple
- Discharge from the nipple
- Nipple turning inward
- Ridges or pitting of the breast skin
Please schedule a prompt appointment with your family doctor or Ob/Gyn if you are experiencing any of these symptoms. These symptoms don’t necessarily mean you have breast cancer. They can indicate other problems that need to be treated.
