Children's Health and Nutrition Goals and Education (CHANGE) Program

The Children's Health and Nutrition Goals and Education (CHANGE) Program is a community outreach program offered through the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI), in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh Clinical Trials and Science Institute (CTSI), that seeks to develop, enhance, and educate the community of Pittsburgh and surrounding region on healthier living, nutrition, and overall wellness.

Our Mission

CHANGE is committed to the proactive prevention of childhood and adult obesity, and offers:

  • Educational programs
  • Interactive presentations
  • Information clinics for children on the importance of physical activity, proper nutrition, and overall wellness

What We Do

UPMC HVI community outreach presenters visit local elementary, middle, and high schools to present information about healthy eating and lifestyle during gym and health classes. During the summer, presenters visit children participating in the summer free food programs and YMCA summer camps around the city.
